ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
GISBORNE, this day
Ralph Hale, 14 years of age, was fatally shot with a pee/ rifle at Mangakuna, Tolaga Bay. Ho had handed the rifle to a native hoy, who, thinking it unloaded, aimed it at him and shot him through the head. At the inquest a verdict of misadventure was recorded.
NEW PLYMOUTH, this day
James Norman Wright, aged eight, fell from the bridge of the dredge Paritutu on to the deck yesterday afternoon. He was removed to the hospital, where he died early this morning.
