FRENCH PASSENGER STEAMER SUNK. Received 11.40 a.m. PARIS, May 24. Official: The steamer Sontay, with 81 « of a crew and 344 passengers, was torpedoed en route from Salonika to, Marseilles. Forty-five perished, including the commander. BRITISH TRANSPORT TORPEDOED 413 LIVES LOST. Received 9.30. <r ; _ ’ LONDON, May 25. The Admiralty reports that the British transport Transylvania was torpedoed in the Mediterranean on May 4, and 413 lives were lost. BRITISH WEEKLY REPORT. LONDON, May 23.
Arrivals during the week were 2054 rind sailings 2759. Eighteen vessels over •ihjOO tons and nine under 1000 tons were sunk. Nine were unsuccessfully attacked. Three fishers were sunk.
