PLUNKET SOCIETY.
A meeting of the above Society was held in the Nurse’s room, Town Hall* on Friday, April 13. Present: Mcsdames de Latour (chair), Joblin, Nathan* Shute, Somerville, Timbs, and Deacon.
Nurse Parlane reported there were now 4G babies on the Society’s books. There wore 1G new cases during March. During the mouth sis mothers had been shown how to make humanised milk; 86 visits had been paid to homes; 32 adults, and 27 babies have visited the office; six letters have
been received and answered
In Marton, Miss Cook has got permission from the masters of the High and Technical Schools for Nurse Parlane to speak to the senior girls occasionally, and these classes started at the beginning of this month.
The nurse also addressed a meeting of mothers at Marton, and five of out new cases were the result of this meeting.
An annual subscription of 5s was received from Mrs. Fox,- Mataroa; alsc a donation of 2s 6d from Mrs J. McDonald, Karioi.
Proceeds from the Garden Fete foi our “Baby Clothes Fund,” £34 4s 2d. The annual meeting has been post poned until the 4th May.
