NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. IN view ,of the necessity to conserve the Railway coal stocks, a drastic curtailment of passenger ahd goods train services will be brought into operation (it the coal strike still continues) en 23rd April, 1917. THE travelling public are strongly urged co avail themselves of th e opportunity permitted by the continuation of the present full service of passenger trains to complete contemplated journeys before the 22nd APRIL, as after that date and until further notice travelling facilities will be strictly limited to the barest necessities, and only the following trains will run.

The Up Express leaving Wellington at 1.10 p.m. for Auckland on Mendays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays WILL run. The Down Express leaving Auckland at 5.50 p.m. for Wellington on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays vYiLL run. The following trains will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays— The 6.55 a.m. train from Ohakune to Mar ton. The 12.30 p.m. train from Ohakune to Marlon. The 6.10 a.m. train from Taihape to Ohakune. The 9.26 a.m. train Ohakune. from Marton to The 7.10 p.m. train from Marton to Taihape. The following trains will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays— The 6.5 a.m. train from Taihape to Marton. „ The 2.20 p.m. train from Marton to Taihape. ONLY Goods of certain classes will be accepted for conveyance by rail while the coal strike continues. Full infermatien in regard to this can be obtained at Railway Stations and from Handbills.
