Mr. A. L. Arrowsmith, the present Mayor, being the only person nominated for the Mayoralty for the comingyear, has been duly elected.

THE COUNCIL. The following nominations have been received for the position of Councillors for the ensuing term: J. A. Champion. J. R. Cunninghame. H. Dashwood. L. Daws. R. Healey. A. J. Joblin. E. Loader. L. A. Needhani. S. F. Reid. J. G. Turnbull.

G. Wrightson. As only seven councillors are required a poll will be held on Wednesday, April 25.

For a,scat on the Wanganui Hospital Board for the combined district of Bulls, Marton„ Hunterville, Mangaweka, and Taihape, two nominations have been received—Mr A. J. Joblin, Taihape, and Mr F. C. Wilson. Marton.
