AMUSEMENTS.
EVERYBODY'S.
As usual, another crowded house greeted the new programme at the Town Hall on Saturday,, when a Metro of extraordinary merit was shown. "Pennington 's Choice,'' which is claimed to be one of the best Metro films, is not only a spectacular scenic x,roduction, but also a logical, gripping story, the points of which, hit home every time. The situations which mark the various stages of the story arc presented with skill and decision,, and the production throughout bears evidence of excellent photography. Mr. Bushman is ably supported in his wonderful characterisation by MfS,s Beverley Baync and an excellent caste. Other good things on the programme include the seventh episode of "The Broken Coin" serial. The final screening of this excellent programme is announced for to-night when no doubt there will be another large attendance. To-mor-row the world-famous actor Holbrook Blinn will be seen in a five-act World Film production, "The Family Cupboard.
THESE STABS. "A Enoch Arden " —Joe Jackson-retu.rns to his home and finds his wife married to another man. He recognises his wife, but does not give himself away to her. Viva Edwards as the wife, has married a lawyer named Mack Swain. Ho cleverly rescues his own child from a runaway motorboat. and then finds out that the tramps with whom he is associated are going to kidnap the child with the connivance of Swain and at the instigation of a grafting lawyer, Hank Mann. He reveals his identity to his former wife, and tries to convince her of the villiany of Swain. She does not believe him, and when she sees him near a tree, where some money was to be paid, accuses him of being in the plot. He afterwards squares himself by making a daring rescue of the child by entering a hut just before it is blown up by dynamite. His wife takes him back and Swain goes to jail. The second Star "Out fo the Flotsam" is by the popular "Lubin Coy," which is sufficient guarantee of something good. There is also a Topical Budget—a Programme worth your while to see.
