SUNDAY PICTURES.

Sir. —I think the Borough Councillors are quite right in stopping the Sunday pictures. They serve no good pui'pose and are patronised only by the working pepole of the town. These workers should set aside Sunday to restore their vital energy fertile coming week’s work, and net wnfste their time at picture theatres on Sunday, In any case they have themselves to blame, as the councillors are by the vote or the people, who should not squirm when their privileges are curtailed by the representatives they put on the Council. I consider the Councillors should take a firmer stand against the evil of Sunday pleasures. For instance, the Domain grounds should be closed, golf playing prohibited, shooting matches debarred and a special license charged for driving motor cars on Sunday. The Councillors can rely on the support of at least one to make Sunday the most miserable day in Taihape. I am, etc., W. OWSER.
