ROSEBUD COMPETITION.

COMING EVENTS. Tuesday, Jan 23.—Dance at Rangiwaea. Raketapauma Rosebud. Tuesday, Jan 23.—A dance will be held at the Winiata Hall, at 8 p.n-.., organised by Verne Welsh. Good floor, good music. Ohutu Rosebud. Wednesday, Jan. 24—Dance at Mataroa, Mataroa Rosebud. Thursday, January 25. —Sale of work and dance, Utiku Hall, Utiku Rosebud. January 25.—Euchre party, in supper room, Town Hall. Tailiapo—Pukeokahu Rosebud. Friday, January 26.—Euchre party and dance, Railway Social Hall, Railway Rosebud. To-night a dance will be held in the Rangiwaea Hall, when the residents of the district will combine to further the chance of Rosebud Spooner, all arrangements are completed, and a most enjoyable evening’s entertainment is assured. The position of the first three candidates was unchanged on Saturday. Railway Rosebud is still leading with Rosebud Hekenui second and Rosebud May Denness third. With the closingdate close at hand, it is expected that the positions will undergo some alteration when the various secretaries begin to pay in their moneys. The supporters of the Mataroa Rosebud, Peggy May, have been working quietly but solidly. With their present efforts supplemented by the proceeds of the dance on Wednesday the Mataroa Rosebud should be well up when the final count is made. Dancers and others are reminded of the dance at Winiata to-night. A first class evening’s amusement is assured local residents and visitors. In view of the success of the previous function at Winiata it is expected there will again be a goodly number of visitors from Utiku and Taihape. The dance at Mataroa on Wefineaday night is sure to draw a big gathering as this is probably the final function of that district in support of Peggy May.
