The "Daily Telegraph's" Eome corTespondent states that the- Kaiser has summoned to the General Headuarters the reigning kings, grand dukes, princes and the dukes of Germany to attend a Grand Crown Council. DISORDERS IN BERLIN. LONDON, Jan. 17. The Berlin military commandant’s manifesto threatens those people who have for some days given themselves up to disorders. It is rumoured that the Reichstag will not re-assemble in Berlin.
KING CAEL SUSPICIOUSLY SILENT LONDON, Jan. 17. The ‘‘Daily Telegraph” says it is significant that the Austrian Emperor is silent, ■while the other monarchs approved of the Kaiser's vehement proclamation to the armies. Probably King Carl is fleeting on the funeral scenes, when a hundred thousand voices in the streets of Vienna murmured a prayer for peace. The suffering Austrians do not itaglcome the Kaiser's bullying tone, whicKis like that of a raving war maniac. Pood disorders are frequent in every Austrian town. The Central Powers' offensive in Eoumania has been cheeked. Generals Mackenscn’s and Palkenhayn's losses have been tremendous, and reserves are insufficient to enable them to organise for an offensive in Macedonia. Germany has tnerefore ordered Turkey to supply two divisions,. and Bulgaria to exert ner maximum effort.
CENTRAL POWERS’ INTERNAL CONDITION. A SHORTAGE OF MONEY. Received 8.50. AMSTERDAM, Jan. IS. The Dutch, mission, which went to Vienna to attend the Emperor ’s funeral, narrate extraordinary stoilics. They only had meat twice in eight days, although present in an official capacity. There is a shortage of everything. The situation is equally had in Germany. In order to improve the money market the German Government has ordered that no article is to be imported into Germany without the permission of the Imports Controller.
