ALIEN PLOTS IN ITALY. DREADNOUGHTS DESTROYED. LONDON, Jan. 12. The "Pall Mall Gazette" states that the destruction of two Italian dreadnoughts is believed to be due to a widespread plot in which influential aliens residing at Rome are concerned. There have been forty arrests. THE WAR LOAN. £20,000,000 IN ONE PARCEL. LONDON, Jan. 12. There has been a great rush for the war loan at the Bank of England hince early morning. Hundreds of thousands of thousands of prospectuses have been handed out. In the first hour the Prudential Assurance Company applied for twenty millions worth of the loan. INTERNED IN DENMARK. 1200 RUSSIANS AND GERMANS. COPENHAGEN, Jan. 12. Denmark is building two camps fori accommodating twelve hundred Russian and German prisoners. Denmark undertakes their upkeep. THE AUSTRIAN CABINET. AMSTERDAM, Jan. 12. It is reported from Buda-Pcsth that Count Tisza and Count Andrassy have come to an agreement by which the latteri is becoming a member of the Cabinet. GERMAN ARMY CONTRACT SCANDALS. Received 9.55. COPENHAGEN, Jan. .14. German newspapers are appealing to the public to assist the Parliamentary Committee in investigating gigantic swindles connected with army contracts. Contractors have made huge profits throughout the war, and the suspicion is suggested that the army has been the victim of foul play. , The Reichstag has decided to bring the scandal to light by a committee representing every party.
