At the opening of the Storthing, the King in his speech said the Government had earnestly endeavoured to maintain strict neutrality, but owing to conflicting interests and belligerents' disagreements, they could not avoid the suggested appointment of a committee to assist the Government in regard to foreign affairs. Newspapers state the reference to disagreements has. caused a great sensation.
