Thursday, January 18. —Children's plain and fancy dress ball, Town Hall, Taihape, 7.30 p.m. Adult dance at 10.30 p.m. Rosebud May Denness. - Thursday, January 18. —Picnic Utiku, 1 p.m. Dance Utiku Hall same evening. Utiku Rosebud. Friday January 19. —Euehre party aud dance, Railway Social Hall, Railway Rosebud. Thursday, January 25. —Sale of work and dance, Utiku Hall, Utiku Rosebud. Friday, January 26. —Euchre party and dance, Railway Social Hall, Railway Rosebud. . The first count of voles handed to the returning officer shows the positions of the three first candidates to be as follows: 1, Railway Rosebud (Mary O'Brien); 2, Native Rosebud (Marianna Hekenui); 3. Rosebud May Denness. , The weekly euchre party and dance in aid of the Railway Rosebud proved a great success. Euchre prizes presented by Messrs Cuhninghaine and Leader were won by Miss E. Smith and Mr. F. Ward. Mr. Northland donated the consolation prizes. Miss Smith re-donated her prize to be disposed of for the benefit cf the fund. Excellent music was supplied gratis by Messrs Collings, Roberts and Lang. This item was a great factor in the success of the dance. Mr. C. O'Sullivan rendered special service in disposing of goods for sale. Parents and children, are reminded of the practices and tuition (given free by a number of ladies) for those taking part, in the Children's Ball on Thursday evening. Much enthusiasm is being shown, and a large attendance is assured. The secretaries of candidates are reminded that payments may be made to the treasurer, Mr. N. E. Drayton, at Wilson and Co's office on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays. The posi- | tion of the three 1 eading Rosebuds ! Avill be announced at both picture j theatres on Tuesdays, Thursdays and and Saturdays.
