WHITE'S AUTUMN SALE.
The great Autumn clearance •has commenced at Messrs W. J. White and Sons, two Taihape drapery establishments, as may he fully realised from a glance at the new sale advertisement on page seven in this issue. It is quite demonstrated that despite the war no child or woman need go short of good,, clothing. Ladies’ dresses are ticketed up at as low as 1/11, voile at that. Trimmed hats, well, they are just being given away For such hats one shilling cannot he called a price. Only a very few shillings will entirely fit out a child, while gentlemen are offered a choice of 50 dozen wide-end ties for sixpence; socks, straw hats and other articles of dress dear to the lords cf creation, may be bought for a mere song. Messrs White and Sons call it a “clearance sale,” and they evidently mean it to be all the name implies. ~
