The High Commissioner's market report, dated London, January (5, is as follows: Meat. —All descriptions of frozen meat continue in good demand owing to decreasing supplies of home-killed mutton and beef, together with small supplies of New Zealand mutton and lamb available for the general public. New Zealand mutton B§d, ewe mutton 8d; Argentine mutton Sgd to 9d; New Zealand lamb 9-Jd; Australian lamb 9gd. Beef. —No supplies available. Argentine chilled beef, hinds l<Hd; fores 9d. C.I.F. sales have been made at the following prices: American frozen beef, hinds 9d; fores 7d. Butter. —The market has a downward tendency, prices easier. Danish 216 s to 2205; Australian, salted 202 s to 20Ss, unsalted 206 s to 210 s; New Zealand,, market shade weaker, 200 sto 210 s, unsalted 210 s to 2145; Argentine salted 200 s to 2025, unsalted 204 s to 208 s; American creamery, 192 s to 1945. Cheese. —Market continues firm; Candaian, Avhite 133 s to 130 s; coloured 136 s to 13Ss; English Cheddar 140 s to 1445; States fiats, 134 s to 1365; New Zealand, no business doing. Estimated Canadian and States cheese stocks in London, Liverpool and Bristol, 1000 crates, a s against 14,000 crates at the same time last year.
Hemp. —New Zealand, it is reported, little or none being offered, market firm owing to reduced supplies, quotations nominal. Good fair New Zealand Shipment, good fair New Zealand. £59; fair £57; Government graded fair Manila £()0; coarse £57 10s. Wheat. —Firm market with a good demand. Australian afloat 83s; New Zealand 80s.
Oats. —The market remains firm, N. Z„ 50s.
