STATIONMASTER INJURED.

WANGANUI, Jan. 9. Mr J. Gilford, stationmaster at Hunterville, met with a serious accident today. When he was fixing the tablet an approaching train caught it up and the rebounding machinery struck Mr Gifford with considerable force. His shoulder blade was broken, and he also sustained a fracture of the base of the skull. He was removed to the Wanganui Hospital for treatment.
