AUCKLAND RACES. The concluding day's .racing in connection with the Auckland Racing Club's Summer meeting took place at Ellerslie yt-sterday afternoon. Heavy rain fell during' the morning, and it looked any odds on a postponement, but at 10 a.m., when the stewards met, it gave signs of clearing, and it was decided to go on. in the Auckland Hurdle Race, Tutchen. the rider of Tararu Jack, -had his coilorbone broken. Results: Goodwood Handicap.—Menelaus 1, Bedford 2, Cleft 3. Sylvia Handicap.—Elocution 1, Vaga bond 2, Demotic 3. Grandstand Handicap. — Colonel Soult and Wishful dead heat for first place, Egypt 3. Twenty-second Royal Foal Stakes — Bisogne 1, Biplane 2, Koesian 3. Hurdle Handicap.—Harbour Light 1, Waimai 2, Te Onga 3. County Handicap.—Torotoro 1, Bimeter 2, Bon D'or 3. Auckland Plate.—The Toff 1, Sasanoff 2, Bjorneborg 3. King Lupin was scratched. The trio left together, Sasanof on the outside, shooting to the front, and leading past the stand two lengths in front of The Toff, with Bjorneborg a similar distance away, last. These positions were maintained as they ran along the back, and crossed the top, but racing to the home turn The Toff moved up, and was within a length when they entered the straight, with Bjorneborg three lengths away. At the distance The Toff put in his claim and at the lawn rails was alongside his rival. Sasanof hung on to his task, but The Toff finishing with great gameness, wore him down stride by stride, gaining the verdict by a loug neck amidst cheering, which was renewed when Emerson brought the sen of Boniform back to the paddock.
