A FATAL JUMP.

I PALMEESTON X., Jan. 2. j A man giving the name of Patrick j Lawson jumped from the Wauganuij Palmcrston North train at Fcilding this j morning, falling heavily on his head. ' He was seriously injured, and died in J Hie hospital here at 7.45 to-night. The I police have information that the dei ceased, who they think was a seafaring , man, travelled through from Auckland | on Monday night and broke his journey ! at Marton, boarding the Wanganni train j this morning.
