LAND SLIDE.

AUCKLAND, Dec 21. Following heavy rain, a large landslip occurred in the suburb of Northcote, on the northern side of the harbour, this morning, resulting in the demolition of a six-roomed house, owned by P W. Bollard, and occupied by L. 8. Millar. The family received sufficient warning to escape before the collapse. The slip is nearly an acre in extent, on a -hundred foot frontage to the road. Fears are entertained for the safety of the adjacent house, owned by R. H. Aitken, and occupied by P. Ellis. All the furniture has been shifted.
