WOMEN'S WORKING CLUB.
METHODS AND OBJECTS. W-hen the Club came into existence no other club or association had been formed for providing comforts for "Our Boys." Then at the commencement of the distinctive local Red Cross Society, the T,WjW. Club's finance—through most runds being directed into Red Cross channels —suffered, till work was much hampered, hence the necessity of taking a separate shop. The Club has been registered for many months as a Patriotic Society under section 9 of the War Funds Act, and recent application -has been made for incorporation under section 12, thus placing this Society as authorised in every sense of the word. There are in Taihape two patriotic societies —the Red Cross is worked, as is well known, and also the Women's Working Club, which provides comfjorts for the boys who have left our own districts. Each object is certainly a worthy one, and the T.W. W. Committee is desirous that only the most cordial relationship should exist between the two societies. It is in both cases a necessity, as there has been considerable misunderstanding concerning the object of this society and its committee. At a meeting on Thursday night a resolution was pass ed that the Secretary should write an account of the Club's work to the local paper. The Club trusts it will receive the continued confidence and support of the people of this town and district.
