THE ROUMANIAN DANGER.
RUSSIAN REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVE. PETROGRAD, Oct 30. Telegrams from Bucharest show that Russian .reinforcements are reaching the Roumanians who are fighting at the passes. The fact of the weather breaking is assisting the defence. The fiercest fighting is at Pr.edeal, where there are constant struggles in the woodlands around the narrow defile. The Germans are exhausted by forced marches through devastated country, where supplies are most difficult to obtain. Falkenhayn is able to move troops rapidly owing to the excellent railway system, but as the Austro-German columns advance this advantage is lessened. ROUMANIA'S PERIL. AUSTRO-GERMANS' AIM. LODNON Oct 31 Mr Dillon, at Rome, says the AustroGermans are eager to reach Pitescu and the level road towards Bucharest before the middle of November. If they succeeded, not only would it be a strategical and economic gain, but it would cut deep into the political situation. This must be frustrated at all costs.
