A SERIOUS CHARGE.

AGAINST PRESIDENT WILSON. THE LUSITANIA NOTE. Received 9.40. NEW YORK, Oct 31. There is great interest in Senator Lodge's charge that tbe President put a postscript to the Lusitania Note, suggesting that the contents were not to be taken too seriously. Mr. Wilson indignantly denies the charge. He says a member of tbe Cabinet suggested an intimation to Germany that the proposal for arbi-' tration would be acceptable to Wilson. He rejected the suggestion and adds, "The public knows the entire communication to Germany." Tie New York "Times" opines that Mt. Bryan made the suggestion of non-adoption which led to his resignation.
