SHIPBUILDING ACTIVITY.
LONDON, Oct 11. (Lloyds Register state* that 4&9 1 merchantmen of 1/2 million tonnage are being built. This is a substantial increase on the year 1915/ TREASON CHARGES. They purchased phosphorus and other chemicals. One lodged with a German, who had since disappeared. Receiving reply in the affirmative, they said: "You will find a lot more before you are done." The police seized documents, including a letter from Raymond Kennedy, one of the men committed in connection with Constable Duncan's murder, referring to I.WJW. matters and concluding: "Doing all possible for Barker's release." Extracts were read- from accused's letters and speeches advocating I.W,W. methods and conveying veiled threats unless Barker was released and conscription dropped.
