PRESENTATION.
LIEUT. H. JOHNSTONE. Yesterday, Mr H Johnstone, who goes into camp on Tuesday next, severed his connection with the firm of H. D. Bennett and Co., and the staff, in saying farewell, made a presentation to him as a token of fheir esteem and goodwill. Mr Johnstone has been employed by the firm for some ten years, and Mr Plummer, in making the presentation on behalf of the staff, wished him good luck and a safe return. The presentation took the form of a silvermounted oak tray and an electro-plate hot water kettle, with spirit lamp. DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. At a meeting of the Taihape Defence Rifle Club last night, the President. Mr J. G. Turnbull, on behalf of the members, presented Mr Johnstone with a silver wristlet watch, suitably inscribed. Mr Johnstone has been secretary of the club for. four years, and fitting reference to the services Tendered by him were made by Messrs Matbie and Marsh, as well as the President.
