As the close of the Golf season approaches the local club is making a special effort on behalf of Patriotic Funds.

The second Red Cross Competition is to be played this week, special prizes being donated by Mr W- A. Todd. The competition is to take the form of a sealed fourscore, with sealed handicaps. The following is the order of play: James plays Ryan; Ongley plays Spooner; Champion plays Gardner; Evans plays Dash wood, Andrews plays Anderson, Wakeman plays Upchurch, Kelsall plays Mortland/' Hesketh plays O'Keefe, Train plays Kersberg; Neagle plays Murray, Powell plays Drayton; Bray plays Wason; Beban plays B'ond; Collinson plays Brett.

Ladies: Miss Corson plays Mrs Collinson; Miss McKinnon plays Miss Hill, Miss McWhirter plays Mrs Train, Mrs Powell plays Miss McDonnell, Miss Little plays Miss Spooner, Mlsa Broughton a bye. As this may be Vie last game of the season, members are requested not to miss putting in a card

For the Bray Trophy last week, com petition was very keen, no less tiian three tieing for first place. The following are best cards: Beban 104-25-76; Train 102-26-76; Spooner 115-36-79; Andrews 89-10-79; Neagle 97-16-81; Kelsall 105-23-82. For the trophy presented by the Captain, Mr J. A. Champion, for the best aggregates in Ladies' Competitions, the following are the best aggregates:—Miss M. Spooner 227, Miss Corson 232, Mrs Train 253, Miss McWhirter 242, Miss Broughton McDonnell 269, Miss Little 272 Much interest is now being taken in the struggle for the Shergold Challenge Cup, to be -held by the player having the best four cards in Stroke Competitions. The following are the best aggregates to date: —Hesketn 305, Andrews 310, Powell 313, Train 314, Kelsall 315, Champion 318, Neagle 323, Evans 327, Todd 331, Wakeman 337.
