A BRITISH SUPER-HERO.
M. Louis Forest who writes those nice crisp bits in “Le Matin,” relates an authentic story of British heroism, which that Igeetle writer aptly describes as the “superior cQurage”— superior because that particular act was accomplished in a mpment of cool reflection. Here is the story:—The young Britain in uestion was in the act of throwing a bomb, when the wretched thing accidentally fell from his hands in the midst of his com-
rades. In two seconds the deadly engine would explode and probably kill a number .of the men. Then the great thing happened. “Good-bye, you chaps,” shouted the youthful lieeutenant in question, as he flung his whole body on to the exxploding bomb. Only a few pieces of him were left, but he
had enhanced the reputation of British heroism—super-heroism. Is this not a case for a posthumous Y.C.?
