MINERS’ STRIKE AVERTED.
IN SOUTH AFRICA. (Received 9.35) CAPETO.WN, August 27. A miners’ strike at Johannesburg has been averted. The Industrial Federation decided not to force the wages dispute to extremes at present, which is regarded as an inopportune time for general settlement.
