THE WAR LOAN.

CONCERNING CERTIFICATES

WELLINGTON, August 23

In reply to an inquiry a ~i to how long the War Loan certificates from £lto £SO would be obtainable irom the Post Office by investors, Sir Joseph Ward stated to-night that his idea

was to keep this part of the loan open until the end of November or December. This would give full opportunity to all small investors throughout the country w-ho desired to purchase certificates to do so, and would give ample time to the people of the Dominion to consider fully the advantages of tne scheme. As any amount that was contributed in this way for war expenditure could be used by the country, there was no good reason, so far as ne could judge, for closing down upon ax>plicants at an early date.
