TAUMARUNUI, July 10. The adjourned inquest into the Kakahi tragedy was held at the hospital this afternoon before the coroner. Mrs Jeffrey has so far recovered that she gave her evidence while lying in bed. Her evidence was similar to the statement made to Constable Maher. She saw her husband’s letter on a table after the tragedy, but, with one eye clcsed, and being dazed, she was unable to read it. Early this morning a third victim died in. the hospital, namely, Neal Jeffrey, aged foxy years; who had a badly, fractured skull.
