' WELLINGTON. July 10. Private Patrick Butler, of B Company, 17th Reinforcements, died at the Trent ham Hospital last night of epilepsy. He Avas formerly a farmer at Toko, and Avas 38 years of age. PriA'ate J. Smith, of infantry details, formerly of E Company, loth Reinforccemnts. committed suicide at the Featherston Camp on Thursday morning, by cutting his throat Avith a razor, just before the loths left on their march, over the hill for Trentham. He had given no Avarning of,.his intention. He Avas about thirty years of age, and came from the Auckland district.
