MORE SUCCESSFUL RAIDS.

TERROR-STRICKEN GERMANS. LONDON June 28. Other correspondents describe Anzac raids in the neighbourhood of Armentieres. They say it was a calm, moonless night. Trench mortar bombardment lasted only eight minutes instead of the usual forty. Both German trenches were heavily manned. The defenders were unable to escape owing to the barrage. It is believed every German was killed or made prisoner. The attackers advanced across 'No Man's Land' through machine-gun fire, but happily it was ill directed, there being practically no casualties, owing to the Anzacs' sprinting powers. The enemy were so flustered that many were killed by their own bombs. There was a comparatively easy captui*e of Saxons and Prussians. Many went on their knees and squealed. The difficulty was to get the captives out of the trenches, as they were so terrified of their own artillery.
