The total amount deposited m the Post Office Savings Band during 1915 was £13,706,057. This was a record, the next highest being £11,904,322 in 1914. fhe amount withdrawn 'ast year was £11.294,973. as against £lO,603,018 in 1914. The excess of deposit- over withdrawals last year was thus £2,-111,083, a.s compared with £1,301,304 in the previous year. The total amount standing to the credit of all open accounts at the end of 11)15 was £22.166,364 as against £19,048,028 at the end m 1914. The number of accounts open on December 31 last was 509,085; at the end of 1914 the number was 483,262.
