LONDON WOOL SALES.

Dalgety and Company Limited have received the following cablegram from their London Office under date of the SOtli instant: — “The fourth series of wool sales has opened. The selection comprised mostly crossbreds and ; Westralian ■wools. There is a good attendance of buyers and competition is animated. As compared with the closing rates of last sale. Merinos have advanced 5 to 7i per cent., good combing showing occasionally a further advance. Fine crossbreds are 5 per cent dearer. and medium and coarse unchanged. “For the fifth series of sales commencing 11th July the limit has been fixed at 100,000 bales of nett new arrivals. The sixth series has been arranged to open on the sth September, and limit, if any, will be fixed later. Subsequent sales will be held at frequent intervals.”
