DEFENCE NOTES.
Last evening No. 43 Coy. Senior Cfit« ] dets. under Lieut. W. Johnston, were inspected by the Group Lieut. H. Martyn-Roberts. N.Z.G.A, There were 56 on parade and the inspecting officer was satisfied with the appearance of those on parade and expressed -hie regret that the Departmnt were upnable to supply ail the unifon.l3 required • gg D. Coy. of the Regiment, Li-out. R. A. Davies, were then paraded and inspected, 27 men being present. Lieut. Martyn-Roberts impressed on the mea sity of taking a pride' in their uniform and of appearing neat and clean o» parade.
The Taihape Defence Rifle Club, under President J. G. After the various units had been inpected, an informal, conference off officers was hold in the local Defence office, when matters concerning the welfare and training of the local units were thoroughly gone into. \ Lieut.
