METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC.
The annual picnic of the Methodist Sunday School was held yesterday at the property of Mr. Wilkie, Ohutu. Upwards of 200 scholars parents, and friends journeyed to these attractive picnic grounds during the day. Numerous swings -were erected amid tire, shade of the bush, young and oM finding delight in this old source of amusement. Cricket and numerous "rounder" sets were in constant demand, and t-'ie usual standard picnie games were played during the day. The keen country air, together with the energy expanded upon the games, produced a lively sense of appreciation for the numerous baskets of good things produced by teachers an« friends, the children especially causing the contents to disappear almost magically. A few slight showers of rafcf fell during the afternoon, but the native bush in the grounds provided ample shelter for the short time required. I n spite of this, the spirits of the picnic ers were not, to be damped, and als returned to. town well satisfied with the day's outing. The thanks of the officials' of the school are due to Mr. Wilkie for' tijL use of his excellent grounds, and ahfe to all who aided in connection with? the gathering, which, it may be observed, is usually held on the 22nd Jaji«J a ?y, but was postponed this year owing; to, weather ..and other circumstances. £
