HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited report as follows —Our usual fortnightly sale of wool .....oddments, skins, hides and tallow took place today when we submitted a satisfactory catalogue of all lines to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding was not brisk mainly owing to the fluctuations, of'the London market and the uncertainty over hide jjiipments, but we managed to dispose of the bulk of our offering at quite satisfactory prices. Making a comparison with our s'ale a fortnight ago, w e find sheepskins just about on a par with the prices then ruling; hides sold better and with an extra fillip to the market we were 'able to dispose of passed in lines from last sale at what we consider satisfactory prices, but the market is still depressed. The range of prices realised is as follows — Sheepskins—Half bred lid to Hid; Fine crossbred, lUd to lUd; medium coarse' crossbred, 9§d to lOgd; short to half wools, 6d to dead and damaged crossbred, 6d to 10Jd; inferior and badly damaged, Id to 65d; lambs, 74d to lid; damp, salted and green, 2/- to 9/3; pelts, 1/1 to 6/9; lambs salted, 1/6 to 5/1.
