Members of the Scottish ambulance state that Vienna is as bright and gay as ever. Theatres and town life are as usual. There is no indication of a shortage of food. The Austrian soldiers treated the party infinitely better than the Germans. The latter are tremendously confident. They say that the- war is practically finished, the English, being beaten. . They added: You cannot starve us. We get as much as we want from Asia. Our munitions are betteT than yours, and your air service is inferior.
Austria officers confess that Austria cannot carry on for more than eight months through lack of men.
