THE MARRIAGE MARKET.
WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. ' | - The effect of the war upon (1) the number of marriages in th e Dominion and (2) the number of illegetimate births is shown by figures prepared by the Registrar-General's Department at tie direction of the Minister for Internal Affairs. The figures are:—
The substantial increase in the number of marriages is attributed ;n part tc the desire of certain men to appear as "married'-' in the National Register, though,it is a fact that many members of the Expeditionary Forces have hastened their marriages before leav- | Ing the Dominion.
