TAIHAPE PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Taihape and District Patriotic Committee was held last evening, there being present Messrs A. L. Arrowsmith (chairman), R. W .Smith, M.P., A. James, J. P. Aldridge, J.P., S. Powell, J. McCormick.
The chairman stated that the meeting had really been called for the purpose of considering the terms of the circular letter from the Minister of Internal Affairs in regard to the conference to be held &t Wellington on the 17th instant and also to define the boundaries.
Those present then considered the question of boundaries and finally it was decided to take the source of the Kawdiata River as a starting point land then along the river to the junction with the Rangitikei. From there the line, zig-zags to the Wanganui River near Pipiriki, excluding Mangawektx, ’hut taking in Utiku, Koeke, and Tirriukawa. Prom Pipiriki the boundary is taken up the Wanganui to Lake Taupo and then the Kainanawa Range to the Ruahine’s forms the other boundary. Mr. R. W. Smith stated that he had received word to the effect that the Ohakune Patriotic Committee would be sending a representative to the Conference at Wellington on the 11 ih instant. It was resolved to write the Got eminent asking them in view of the fact that they had called the conference, to pay the expenses of the delegates.
