WORRIED KAISER.
M. Paul Louis Hefviejr, writing in the ISTouvclle Eevue, of Paris, gives t-he following extract from a letter from Berlin written in July last:— "There are many people in Berlin who would probably not recognise the Kaisdr if they saw him now in civilian clothes, for he has changed enormously within the last year. In eleven months he has aged twenty years. He walks with bowed head, whereas before the war he was as erect as any member of his famous Guard. His hair and moustache are almost white. "In addition to the worries of the war he has suffered from many private troubles. Although it is not stated in public, it is whispered everywhere that the Crown Prince has been a cruel disappointment to his father, who considers him absolutely incapable of taking his place on the throne. "No one knows exactly where the Crown Prince is, and the general opinion is that a Koyal divorce is inevitable. It is said that the Kaiserin takes the part of her daughter-in-law, but is doing everything possible to persuade her to overlook the causes of the estrangement with her husband and remain loyal to him for the sake of the Empire."
