EARLIER TO BED.

London is going homo and to bed earlier as though to the sound of a latter-day Curfew. When thousands of people are doing this the effect on traffic is marked. Darkened stireets kill the night life of a city, and so after about 8.30 London’s crowds have sought their own firesides, and traffic is practically dead.

‘ 1 After 8.30 a.m. the tl’amway service is considerably diminished, and the curtailment is going on steadily,” said Mr. H. H. Gordon, of the London County Council Highways Committee. “That does not mean that the service will be stopped, but we find to an increasing extent that London is going" to bed earlier than befoie.
