BUSINESS METHODS CHANGING.

In a bold, prominent advertisement on page one of this issue, Messrs Pb D. Bennett and Co., have an announcement that should be particularly interesting to all residents of this district. So many people are averse to paying the prices that long credit and bad debts involve that Messrs Bennett and Co. have deemed it advisable to abandon the old pay-through-the-nose credit, and institute a system of smaller profits on a cash basis. There is no side-tracking the fact that many people have been so unreasonable as to expect long credit at the same prices as other firms demand for cash in advance. There is no miracle about what are termed low-prices as advertised by some firms, it is merely the cutting away of all risks of loss through long credit and bad debts that have to be written off, and which no credit-giving firm can avoid. Our readers are referred to Messrs Bennett and Go’s, preliminary announcement.
