SHOP BROKEN INTO.
ESCAPADE OF YOUTHS. MONEY AND CAKES TAKEN. Two young lads, one aged 15 and the other 13, have during the last two days, transgressed the law and have laid hands on property not belonging to them. It is stated that they entered the shop of Butchart and Co., Bakers, in Station street, on Tuesday night, gaining entrance by means of a back window, and secured some sweets, and also took money totalling abput 12/-. The boys were seen loitering about the place and were warned that their parents would be informed. They evidently became frightened and decided to leave the town. Yesterday search was made for them. They were traced southward and their bicycles, which, it is understood, are the property of the Post and Telegraph Department, were found by the police at MangaAveka, near an old Avhare. Later, one boy Avas sent back by the police, the other boy returning during the evening. Both boys have been handed over to their parents, and Avill be brought before the Juveniles’ Court early in the Ncav Year to ans Aver to the charge.
