PROPOSED NATIONAL SERVICE LEAGUE.
22 Miriam Street, ' Mastertcm. "^ Dear Sir.—The host of the manhood of New Zealand are at the front, or •have tried to go and been rejected, while others are going. Many have given up good positions and made great sacrices to go. We are hoping and wishing them a safe return with honour. What are we going to do on the'" return, treat them like previous Avars —give them a cheer, and a glass of beer, and then let them be forgotten, as a tiling of the past? ' I have been asked to organise early in the new year. A National Service League, to help them to regain their former positions and to make them welcome both in civil! and social life and gain for them preference in both, so that they may (Miter life afresh amongst us, under the most favourable conditions, and I trust many will rise to fill the highest positions in the land. The proposed League will consist of: Those who have enlisted, those who have tried and been rejected, and anyone who lias seen active service for Great Britain. A registered badge will be given all- members, and it is hoped be the means of big comradeship springing up amongst them. May I ask all that are interested to,, write me before Christmas, and makeJyj . any suggestions that may be useful so ( that the League can do good work, on very broad lines, to help those to whom all -bonour is due. Yours Faithfully. F. NOERIS.
