MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
A special sitting of the Taihape Magistrate’s Court was held on Saturday, Air. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.AL, presiding. W. Wiltshire pheaded guilty to using obscene language in Huia Street on the 29th November. Defendant, who is a returned trooper, was severely admonished by the presiding Alagistrate, and was convicted and discharged. Cyril Sloane, William Kite, Alfred Helem, and - Arthur Herbert Alatthews were each charged (1) with wilfully damaging a window, the property of Air. Goldsbury, and (2) with wilfully damaging a window at Ohuttu. the property of the Taihape Dairy Company. Each defendant was convicted and fined 10/6 on the first charge and ordered to pay 2/6, the damage to the window; and on the second was fined 1/0 and ordered (o pay 2/6 damages. For leaving a vehicle unattended in Hautapu SK William Pitt was convicted and fined 5/; and John McDonald, for driving ithout lights, was fined 7/6. CIVIL CASES. The civil case, AlcLaughlan Bros. v. T. B. Alissen, a claim for £25 8/;, was called, and judgment was given for plaintiff by confession, with 1-V costs. Reserved judgment was given m the three following cases: P. Keanus v. Dr. R. J. Boyd; Dr. R. J- Boy ll '• H. D. Bennett; A r . A. and H. J- Ben nett v. AI. Condon. . Kearins v. Boyd; This was a claim for sheep alleged to have been kmed through being worried by defendant . a" V Magistrate held that there was evidence of worrying but nothing to connect defendant’s dog tins. Plaintiff was non-suited and ■/ costs allowed defendant. Dr E. J- Boyd v. H. D. Bennett A claim for £l7 0/6 damages to motorcar The evidence showed that a car "mad. defendant’s servant was on h.s wrong side of the road, hat the defence denied this. Considerable evo fence was taken and the place -there the collision occurred was ™wed .J, the Magistrate. This morning jud ment was given for defendant, costs amounting to £1 1 /• V. A. and H. J- Bennett Don don- A claim for £9O 4/5, being cost of fence. Considerable evidence was also taken m this case, ties differing on the length _ fence and also on the amount of buffi falling which had bee * last Court day the ferred and judgment - costs consent for Defendant was amounting to b '/■ expenses allowed adjournment CM amounting to £4 14/-
