A few days ago the fact that the only news of their son Mr. and Mrs. A. 0. Reichardt had received for some time past was that inscribed on a returned letter, "Killed in Action." Mr. Reichardt wrote to the Defence authorities and the consolation he receives is absolutely nil. Now, the secretary of the Taihape Women's Working Club has received a communication from the military authorities, dated Alexandria, October 2Sth, stating that a parcel had been despatched about that time to Mr. F. Reichardt, Mudros Island, in company with one that Avas sent to Mr. W. A. Nicholls. It is not surprising that the authorities lose the run of soldiers' parcels when they miserably fail in keeping count of soldiers themselves.
