The Feilding Jockey Club’s meeting opened in fine weather, but the course is somewhat heavy. Results:
Aorangi Trial Plate:—lnterlude 1, Tango 2, Bjornebong 3. Scratched Musketry, Royal Chief, Baronet, Cowrie, Mossman, Pendant, Pourparler and Tipai. Time, 1.4 2-5. Won easily.
Flying Handicap:—Heather 1, Coronet 2, Happiness 3. Scr.: Astor, Chaira, Pursefiller, India and Papauira. Won. by a head. Time, 1.18 2-5.
