ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE GIRL IN THE TRAIN.

At the Town Hall next Saturday night, the 27th inst., Mr D. B. O'Connor will present, by arrangement with J. C. Williamson, Ltd., his company in another of his big musical comedy successes, entitled "The Girl in the Train." The theme centres round on "Gonda Von der Loo," whose actions on a train with one Karel Buren, a benedict, give rise to suspicion on the part of an over-suspicious wife, and ultimately lead to divorce court proceedings in which "Gcnda Von der Loo" figures as a heroine —if such a word can be used of the roles of musical comedy. In the first act is shown the court scene and much merriment is aroused by the judge and court officials. However later in the piece the husband clears himself, and the play evolves itse'f into a rollicking comedy greatly to thf: liking of the audience. Although similar in title, "The Girl in the Train" in no way resembles "The Girl in the Taxi." It is a distinct, new musical comedy, that is running "The Taxi" very closely in public popularity—and box office receipts. The box plan is at Finch's Bazaar. Inorder to give business and other people employed late on Saturday a chance of seeing the opera the performance will not start until 8.45 p.m.
