AMUSEMENTS.

"THE GIRL IN THE TAXI." The box plan for "The Girl in the Taxi," the musical comedy to be staged at the Town Hall, Taihape, on next Thursday night, the 11th inst, is now -open at Finch's Bazaar, and heavy advanced bookings may be relied upon, judging by the rush for seats wherever this remarkable musical comedy has been announced for production. Its phenomenal success in Sydney and Melbourne, where it ran for over 200 nights at the former city and 150 in the latter are well known. Miss Violet Collinson is the leading lady, and <cf her impersonation of the part of Suzanne, an Australian contemporary says: "As an exponent of the 'loneliness cue,' she excelled in every respect. Her beautiful voice, charming manner, graceful dancing, and allround pleasantness are as irresistible to audiences as they are to Hubert, a difficult role in which Mr D. B. O'Connor is seen at his best, and local the-atre-goers know what that means. Altogether this bright and sparkling musical comedy was an unqualified success." The company is a strong allround combination, comprising principals, chorus, ballet, and efficient orchestra.
