OHUTU RAILWAY STATION.

IMPROVEMENTS EFFECTED. Mr R. W. Smith, Member of Parliament for this district, has received the following: letter from the Minister of Railways: Head Office, Railways, Wellington, October 26th, 1915. Sir, —With reference to your representation in support of the request made by the Taihape Chamber of Commerce urging that Ohutu Station (Egmont Box Cofs Siding), should be treated as a booking station, I have the honour to inform you that it has been decided to accede the request and in future passengers trading to and from Ohutu will be charged at the actual mileage instead of to and from the neighbouring station as heretofore. Parcels and small lots of goods which can be carried in roadside waggons: will also be dealt with at the station. I have the honour to be, Sir, Your obedient servant, W. H.
