NEW RECRUITING METHODS.

WELLINGTON. Tins Day. An organisation '• called the War League has come into being in Wellington with the good object of helping forward all plans connected with patriotic effort

particularly the recruiting mcvement. The establishment of a recruiting office run by voluntary workera at the Town Hall has resulted in a marked stimulus in recruiting, though the place is not really central, and would be overlooked unless the young men of the community were on the lookout for a recruiting office. The number of registrations during the past fortnight totals bl'o. Men who sign the registration form are not asked to come back for medical exam, ination. This is done immediately, a doctor being on hand almost all the time. If the medico is not in the office, the recruiting agent can take the intending soldier to a consulting room, and there get the man tested. “All we want now.” sav<s the ex-Imnerial officer in charge cf the office, “is a camp where we can send men who, having

no work or no home here, wish to go in+o camp at onoe.” The recruPs for tlhe next two drafts are practically assured in Wellington.
